Volunteers Wanted!
Help us make Faith Formation a vibrant program full of community support for our children. You do NOT need a strong background in theology to help! Training will be provided for all, especially catechists (teachers). If you love working with children, and God is calling you to support families, we need your help. We are currently looking for the following roles:
- Substitute aides/catechists
- classroom aides
- hallway monitor
- 6th-7th grade catechist
Program Information
Program Options
We are excited to offer two choices for busy families seeking to grow in faith in the upcoming year! Parents can choose between Family Faith Formation and Classroom Faith Formation:
- Family Faith Formation gives parents all the tools and support YOU need to explore and live out your faith at home. Families will receive grade level copies of Finding God for each child, and a parent guide to help you guide your children through weekly lessons. You will also have the option each week to set aside the textbook and try out a simple family activity instead. Periodically throughout the year (5 Mondays at 4:30pm + 6:00pm), we will gather as a community at St. Rita's for Family Nights for prayer services, game nights, and other fun events. This option is best for families who value flexibility, want to involve a grandparent or other loved one, are concerned about vulnerable or unvaccinated family members, and/or who enjoy or want to try learning, praying, and living the faith together. Parents are the first and best example of faith that children have - you CAN do this!
- Classroom Faith Formation: Children will attend weekly Faith Formation sessions with their peers (Mondays at 4:30pm), exploring and experiencing their faith with the guidance of a catechist. Periodically throughout the year (5 Mondays at 4:30pm + 6:00pm), we will gather as a community at St. Rita's for Family Nights for prayer services, game nights, and other fun events. This option is best for chidlren who learn well in a group setting.
- Both programs: The BEST way to support your family's ongoing faith journey is by regular worship at Mass. Whether you have always attended faithfully, or you protected your family's health during the pandemic by staying home, or you have found it challenging to bring a young child to Mass - we are here for you! Whether your child is loud, or messy, or unfamiliar with what to do, or a prayeful and calm expert - we joyfully welcome the gift of your family's presence!

COVID, Health, and Weather Safety
The safety of all children and volunteers is our highest priority. In the 2024-2025 school year, we will continue to follow the same health policies and weather-related event cancellations as WCSD and SRS.
Family Nights
These gatherings will bring all families in the Classrom Faith Formation program and Family Faith Formation program together as a community periodically throughout the year. Please feel free to attend at 4:30pm or 6:00pm. An adult should accompany your children to these events. Remote participation via video recording is available if you have any accessibility or COVID-related concerns.
Family Faith Formation

- By the Book: A Finding God lesson with parent instructions and attendant quizzes delivered via Google Forms.
